“You don’t need to know where you’ll end up in life, just enjoy and adapt as you go along, making choices that bring you joy.”
We first fell in love with Annie when she spun through our doors with pink hair, grace and wit. Explaining to us how she fell off her bike on the way to the studio then a pun about a cake? We didn’t get it, but it made us laugh anyway.
We were instantly hooked on her mature vulnerability and understated confidence.
We asked her what her morning rituals look like:
I love an early morning and always get up a couple hours before I leave for work. I take Frank out, my wee black lab, then sit down with a cuppa, porridge and a sudoku. I adore puzzles - I’m secretly 90.
“The space and quiet of the morning is my favourite time of day.”
Her classes:
If you want to add some spice you can, but if you’d rather keep it pretty chilled that’s fine by me. I encourage students to listen to their bodies, to take risks, to play and to embrace mistakes and boundaries with resilience and laughter.
What brings her ease:
Baking. I’m a very sensory person, I love the sticky fingers, the bodily effort of kneading and whisking, the smell of tasty treats wafting through my home, my glasses steaming up as the heat of the oven hits my face and that first bite, discovering if I’ve created a disaster, a masterpiece or something in between. Baking pulls on all my senses and draws me to the present like nothing else, I find it soothing and meditative.
